Red-Inc Announces Charity of the Year Partnership

February 17, 2015 | Posted by Amy

We’re delighted to announce that we have chosen The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home (QAHH) as our charity of the year.

About the charity

The Worthing-based hospital home specialises in the treatment of veterans with an acquired brain injury or a physical disability. It is the only hospital home south of London which provides specialist nursing care for ex-service men and women. It also provides respite for carers.

QAHH delivers many specialist services on site, and it adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to care. Each resident has an individually-tailored plan. This includes the provision of nursing care, speech therapy, end of life care, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

The hospital home is also dedicated to caring for residents’ emotional well-being.  An extensive programme of internal and external social and recreational activities, cognitive and behavioural therapy and counselling.

QAHH accepts residents from the age of 18 upwards and it has 60 beds for both permanent and short-term respite care. This is available for two to four weeks at a time. Anyone who has served in HM Forces at any time or in any capacity and their immediate family members are eligible for admission.

How Red-Inc Help

Red Inc has been contributing financially to QAHH as part of our Positive Change initiative. While we are a business first and foremost, community values are very important to us and we take pride in supporting local charities.

Adam Huttly, Managing Director of Red-Inc, said: “As we have grown, our awareness of local projects and the people within the community have inspired us. In particular, the time and effort they give in helping those in difficult circumstances.

We decided to commit to supporting one local charity and make it our focus for the year; and we’ve chosen QAHH as our charity for 2015.
Following an office re-fit for QAHH in 2014, and having met so many committed staff and their patients, we felt that we could do a lot more with this charity that is on our doorstep.

2015 will see us as the main sponsor for their Remembrance Ball at Fontwell Park on Saturday 7 November, with guest speaker Derek Derenalagi and an aptly arranged red and black dress code, as well as lots of other exciting events and activities throughout the year.”

Tanya Sharp, Corporate Relationships Officer at QAHH, said: “We are so grateful to Red-Inc for their continued support. The company has helped us so much already. Now we have been chosen as their charity of the year means a great deal. QAHH will benefit from Red-Inc’s support in many ways. Their kind donations will help us to continue to provide first-class care and rehabilitation to our residents.”
