Our Impact in 2023-2024: Urban Tree Planting Success
In the past year, Red-Inc supported two major urban tree-planting projects to tackle environmental challenges, enhance biodiversity, and connect communities to nature.
1. Barrow-in-Furness 🌳
Barrow’s tree cover falls short of the UK’s recommended levels. Together with Trees for Cities and local volunteers, significant progress has been made:
- 4,270 trees planted in Parkview Fields.
- Red-Inc proudly sponsored 52 trees.
- 75 volunteers of all ages got involved, planting whips and participating in creative workshops that fostered environmental awareness.
Impact: Improved air quality, boosted biodiversity, and greener spaces for everyone to enjoy.
2. Darlington 🌱
Darlington’s council aims to plant 20,000 trees by 2025—a bold and inspiring goal. This year:
- 2,500 trees were planted across six community locations.
- Red-Inc funded 97 trees in this initiative.
- 57 local volunteers, including families, joined hands to make a real difference through urban tree planting efforts.
